Plot Summary
A group of African-American women create the necessary mathematics to help NASA get astronauts safely into orbit
HIDDEN FIGURES is the kind of movie that makes me happy that I get to do what I do for a living.

This is one of my top 10 films of 2016. (Technically, it was released to qualifying theaters in 2016 in order to be eligible for the 2016 awards season). It is fun, funny, inspiring, and touching. It's already been nominated for several big awards, and I expect it will get many more nominations over the rest of the awards season.

The cast is amazing. Octavia Spencer is out of this world, Taraji P. Henson makes rocket science look easy, and Janelle Monae will make you say, "you go, girl!" at least half a dozen times. She is a perfect scene-stealer.

This film is exciting, joyous, and almost entirely family-friendly. I would say that this movie would be a great starting point for many discussions with your children ages 10 and up.

Go see this film as soon as you can.
