Plot Summary
Bad cops and Internal Affairs get caught in the middle of a massive drug deal gone bad
Star #1
Here are some good warning signs of a bad movie:

A January release: Check
The release date gets moved a lot: Check
The theatrical trailer in theaters the week before release has the wrong release date: Check
The advertising budget is somewhere near $0: Check

That said, I gave SLEEPLESS the same opportunity I give all movies I see. I walk in with the thought that this may be the best movie of the year and I'll just wait for it to prove me wrong.

It took about five minutes.

This film is full of stupid ideas, stupid decisions, events that would never occur in reality, and a guy that can take more punches, stabs and gunshots than RoboCop.

Here is one shining example of how ridiculous this movie is. In one casino, in one night, there have been murders, fights, kitchens destroyed, hotel rooms destroyed while people are screaming and running for their lives. Yet, there is barely a cop to be found anywhere in the area. So a normal everyday citizen is able to still pull into the parking garage where all hell is breaking loose. Seriously?

The only good thing about this movie are the twists, and if you pay any attention at all you'll figure them out way before the reveals. Personally, I was a good 45 minutes ahead on one of them, but I see a lot of movies.

I guess, if you can completely check your brain at the door, you might enjoy this as a typical action flick on some mind-numbing level, but if you start thinking about it at all the joy will be gone.

They should have named this movie SLEEP THROUGH instead of SLEEPLESS.
