Yes! Yes! Yes!

Admittedly unfairly, my expectations for this movie were sky high, and THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE lived up to every single one of them! Not only does this film deserve to win next year's Oscar for Best Animated Feature, but at this point it deserves a nomination for Best Picture. It is that good.

I took my young daughters to see this film and they loved it, but they didn't love it as much as their mother and I did. Adults need to see this movie. It is full of what I like to call Bugs Bunny humor. Jokes that are funny to kids, but parents get them on a whole other level of hilarity.

Literally, from the opening second of this movie the entire audience was laughing, entertained and engaged. It's the kind of film you need to see twice just so you can hear all of the lines you laughed over the first time you saw it.

The animation is spot on. There is so much detail in every scene that you could spend hours analyzing every screen shot for inside jokes and fun Easter eggs.

The story is somewhat simplistic, (hey, it is a kid's movie), but it still touches on deep themes that parents will find intriguing and compelling. The powers that be managed to make a film that is fully entertaining to children and adults. That is a spectacular feat that should be applauded...and seen.

Make it a family outing this weekend. And then do it again next weekend.
