Plot Summary
Five teens find medallions that give them the power to help save the world from evil
Star #2

Growing up I never got into the POWER RANGERS. It always looked super cheesy and lame to me. I have to admit, when I heard that they were making a POWER RANGERS movie I cringed a little bit at the thought of having to sit through two hours of low-budget, campy, cheesiness.

Fortunately, this film leaves the cheese behind.

This is a fun popcorn flick that tells an interesting story without being campy. It's got compelling characters, fun action, a great back story, and all of the nostalgia a fan of the original MMPR series could want.

The music is a lot of fun, and they even throw in the "Go, Go, Power Rangers" song which apparently has the power to turn 40-something year old men into bouncy ten year old boys. (As personally witnessed by me).

The only thing I didn't like about this movie is that it is about 30 minutes too long. (It clocks in at just over two hours, and 90 minutes would have been plenty). Also, we don't see the characters morph until the third act, so it's too slow of a slow build.

That said, fans of the old show are going to love this, and people that were never fans of the show can get on board with this fun, non-cheesy reboot.
