Plot Summary
The Beastie Boys’ Mike D and Ad Rock talk to a live audience about the life and times of the members of their band
Director
Star #2
Streaming Exclusively on AppleTV+.

When Adam Yauch (MCA) died in 2012 we all knew The Beastie Boys would never perform again. But what we did get from Adrock and Mike D, was an incredible, interactive, informative, and cathartic show that let us into the inner sanctum of the crazy trio.

If you are wanting a typical documentary, this might be disappointing to you. This is a stage show, with an audience, where the remaining band members tell the story of the band while pictures and videos splash on the screen behind them.

It is fascinating to watch these same guys that sang some of the world's most popular party anthems, now in their 50's, take responsibility for, but now distance themselves from some of their lyrics and their behavior. They also tell their story in a way that feels like you are getting both sides of everything. Even in the controversial topics I never felt like they were just giving me their lines and leaving out the other side.

If you are or were a fan of The Beastie Boys, this is a must-see film. It will bring back all sorts of your own crazy memories, and it lets you see and hear a few of their own that were never made public before.

NOTE: Make sure you watch all the way through the credits. There are several minutes of hilarious footage that will have you laughing until your jaw hurts.
