Plot Summary
A biographical piece on the life of Hank Williams Sr.
Director

Tom Hiddleston is outstanding in his role as Hank Williams Sr. Unfortunately, the story isn't told well. The editing makes the plot jumpy forcing the audience to have to fill in the gaps. If you go into this film without any prior knowledge of the life and antics of Hank Sr. you will most likely be lost and bored.

The film clocks in at just over two hours and that time goes by very slowly in several places. The pacing is just as jumpy as the editing. There are times when the movie rushes through highly important moments in his life, but then it dwells on events that don't matter that much.

I wish the movie had been better because Hiddleston's performance is award worthy, but that will never happen because voters won't be able to look past the issues with the film.

If you are a fan of Hank Williams Sr. I suggest waiting until the movie comes out on DVD. At least then you can turn it off if it is diving you crazy. Besides, there isn't anything in the movie that makes it worth spending the money to see it on the big screen.
