Plot Summary
A teen boy discovers he has special powers, but evil forces want his powers for their own purposes
It seems that about twice a year Hollywood puts out a film that literally misses every target audience possible. This is one of those films.

MAX STEEL is based on a toy. It has had runs as a DVD series and a show on Disney, this is its first (and most assuredly last) foray onto the big screen. It would be the perfect kind of movie for pre-teen kids, however the studio decided to make it PG-13 and very dark.

It is way too intense for the younger audience, but it is also super cheesey. I went to the movie with a teenager and he was not only bored by the movie, but he said it was "lame". I would add cringe worthy to that list as well.

The acting is passable at best, and Andy Garcia is terrible in it. I honestly have no idea why an actor of his talent level would ever even consider taking a role like this one. It's an embarrassing mark on an otherwise stellar career.

This movie isn't worth seeing at all, but if you do have younger kids begging you to go I would recommend doing a lot of research before you go. It may be too dark and scary for them and you will be bored out of your mind.
