Plot Summary
A man on the run from the law, tries to get enough money to get his brother out of jail before he gets caught himself
Director
This is a dark, depressing film. The plot is interesting and the story plays out well, but there is so much about this movie that just isn't good.

Other than Robert Pattinson, who is amazing, the rest of the acting is terrible. Terrible to the point where I was constantly being pulled out of the story by poorly delivered lines or odd timing. It felt like I was watching a first year film school flick where the director had last pick of the actors.

The editing wasn't any better. There are scenes that are way too long, and there are scenes that are too short. In both cases it threw off the pacing and made for a roller coaster watching experience where sometimes I was trying to mentally pull the story along and other times I missed things because either I couldn't keep up or they were skipped over completely.

The soundtrack was a hot mess, too. It was so loud that, at times, it drowned out the dialogue, and in the non-talking scenes it felt like it was twice as loud as it should have been. (For reference, this isn't one of those I'm-old-get-off-my-lawn things. This was a topic of discussion among several film critics after the movie finished).

There is nothing about this film that makes it worthy or necessary to see it in a theater. It's barely worth seeing on DVD. It's not very entertaining, it's sad, and it is anything but a good time.
