Plot Summary
A man with super-human strength sacrifices everything to avenge his people
Star #3
I don't envy the people that try to make theses movies. They are trying to take R-rated stories from the bible and turn them into something that a Christian wants to see. However, in doing that, the stories lose a lot of their suspense and intensity. This film falls into that trap.

Overall it's a pretty yawn-inducing film with devastatingly bad graphics, weird green screen shots, comical slow motion fight scenes, and a seductress that wears more clothes than just about every other woman in the movie. Throw in sub-par acting and some cringe-worthy dialogue and this film is a tough watch. Here is an example of how bad the writing is (paraphrased):

Girl 1: I'm getting married.
Girl 2: Great! To who?
Girl 1: Samson.
Girl 2: Oh, the strong Hebrew. One of the leaders of the tribe of Dan. I've seen him before.
Girl 1: Do you know who he is?

Uhhhhhh, what?

The editing is horrible, there are several scenes that reference events we never see, the color-correction is basically non-existent. Typically, I don't bring up technical things like color correction, but when one scene looks like it is switching back and forth between noon and evening it has a tendency to pull you out of the story.

Typically, these films are inspirational. That is not the case with this movie. Once it gets to the climactic scene the film is basically over. There is another minute or two after that where the film tries to make it inspirational, but it just feels like a last-minute board room decision where someone said, "this movie needs an inspirational ending!"

There have been a lot of "Christian" films to come out in the last few years. Some of them are great. Most of them are pretty good. This one doesn't make the cut.
