Plot Summary
A corporation wants to automate the Jaegers, but the Kaiju have other plans
If you were a fan of the original PACIFIC RIM this is a sequel you have been wanting for five years. The good news is that this is another super-fun monster movie. The bad news is that it isn't as good as the first one.

I'm not saying this film is bad, it's actually pretty good. However, if they made this story first I doubt we would have gotten a sequel. This one is more about the monsters and their journey rather than the relationships of the characters that made the first film so emotional and compelling.

That said, if you are in it just to see some massive robots fight some gigantic creatures while a few people try to save the planet, well grab your popcorn and your BFF and get to the theater now! You will be cheering wildly with every 120-story WWE slam.

This feels like a high-budget Godzilla flick more so than a moving Sci-fi film. The villain is weak and his motivations are weaker. It's almost like the first hour of this movie is nothing more than set-up so we can get to the main event for the last 30 minutes.

If you liked the first, you should give this one a try. If you thought the first film was a waste of time, steer clear of this one.
