Yes, Emilia Clarke is adorable. Yes, Henry Golding is dreamy. Yes, they are a perfect match for a Rom-com couple.
No, this movie isn't very good.
Oh, how I wish that these two could have starred in a movie with a better plot. The two of them made this film way better than it should be just because they are both so lovable. Without them this movie would be a terrible waste of time.
The story follows most of the Rom-com formula, but it has a twist that a few people will find endearing, but most will see it as weird. When the big reveal happened I heard people around me saying things like, "What the heck?"
It feels like a slightly above average Hallmark channel Christmas in July original. It's the same movie you've seen a thousand times, just with better actors this time.
If you like Christmasy Rom-coms, then you might as well give this one a shot. You'll probably enjoy it to some degree.
