If you are a fan of slow-moving, period-piece dramas, PHANTOM THREAD is the movie for you. If you need things to happen while watching a movie, you should pass on this one.
This is a beautiful, artistic film that is highlighted by wonderful acting and striking cinematography. The dialogue is as complex and fanciful as the dresses which the lead character designs. It is also a funny film, but in an unexpected way. There are several times where you will find yourself laughing at things at which you don't want to laugh.
The whole film is a slow boil between despicable people that leads to a moment when the tension finally overflows. That moment is true art.
This is not a film for everyone. In fact, I'd be shocked if this film grosses $5 Million. But if you like films that feel like works of art, you may want to give his one a shot.
