Look, this is a flick made for Liam Neeson. I can't imagine the writer thinking of anyone else as the words hit the paper. I also can't think of the writer thinking much about the plot either, because it is a thin slice of Swiss cheese in this film.
This is a film where you have to suspend disbelief...a lot.
Basically, the entire movie relies on you pretending that the FBI wouldn't follow even a modicum of protocol. Seriously, if you think about the plot compared to how real people in those situations would react this movie is over in about 5 minutes. (Plus the 3 minute opening that will have you screaming "WE GET IT, HE'S A COMMUTER!!" by the end of it).
Mix in about 100 concussions that don't affect Liam at all, a poor mystery, and the lamest copycat "I am Spartacus" moment ever in film and you have nothing left, but some fun fights and a pretty decent train crash.
There are so many great movies in theaters right now, don't waste your money on this.
