So far 2021 has been a tough go for movies, but it has been a banner year for animated films. Films like Raya And The Last Dragon, Arlo The Alligator Boy, and The Croods: A New Age have all been smash hits, (relatively speaking as we continue to climb out of the pandemic). Now we have a new animated offering from Netflix and it is amazing.
This movie has it all. It is funny, heartwarming, filled with action and slapstick comedy, and the dialogue is brilliant. There are several "aside" jokes that will have parents belly laughing and kids asking, "what's so funny?"
The animation and style of this movie is unique. It has a few scenes that are live action, and then the rest of the film is done in the typical animation style, but it has "old school" animation drawn over it. It makes for a fun, layered look to the movie, and adds a lot to the overall excitement and entertainment of it.
This is the kind of movie that your whole family will love. There is plenty of entertainment and jokes for the adults to stay engaged, and there is enough action and excitement to make the little ones sit still and stuff their faces with popcorn and candy for almost two hours.
