It's hard to believe that a franchise that is more than 80 years old could still find a way to be relevant and entertaining today, but this one manages to do just that. It goes to show that slapstick is still funny and an acceptable form of comedy.

While I would never suggest this is "Animated Movie of the Year" level, I will say this is a fun and entertaining film that the  whole family will enjoy. And in a time where good family films have been scarce, this is a great find.

If you grew up watching Tom and Jerry you know exactly what you are going to get with this film. The addition of the real-life characters is fine. It doesn't add or detract from the cat and mouse game being played. It just feels like a different way to get across the same story.

The plot is thoroughly formulaic. There are no surprises or twists. But it does give you everything you want and expect from a Tom and Jerry cartoon. So, while it isn't the greatest movie, it is still good enough to see with the whole family. Everyone will have fun and be entertained.
