This is one of the more unique films I've seen in the last several years. It took me a good 30 minutes before I adjusted to the flashback-to-musical-to-narrative style, but once I got used to it I really enjoyed the movie. Taron Egerton proves once again that he is one of the elite actors in Hollywood. He transforms into Elton John, and he delivers a very impressive musical performance as well by singing all of the songs in the movie. As one of my film critic friends said, "If Rami Malek can win a best actor Oscar...

I think that Hollywood is slowly forgetting how to write a proper hero. Several times this year I've sat through films where the "hero" does nothing on his/her own, but simply reacts to the environment presented before them. A true hero is proactive, not reactive. Seriously, Elton John completely steals the show. If you didn't see the first KINGSMAN film, you need to do so before jumping into this one. If you haven't seen the first one, this one will make sense, but you will miss out on a lot of character depth and development as well as some continued story lines. Don't worry though, the first film is totally...

I'm a sucker for an inspirational sports flick. That said, I still need the movie to be good. In the case of EDDIE THE EAGLE, it is great. I loved this film from beginning to end. I loved that it was a moving story told in a very real and compelling way, I loved that Egerton and Jackman had great on-screen chemistry, and I loved that they made this movie as close to family-friendly as possible without losing the real story. The story is inspiring to people of all ages. It...
