Clint Says: Save some money and see a matinee

This is a film that will never be seen by most people. Unfortunately, the story looks and feels like it is more for children, however it is PG-13 and has a lot of very intense scenes and deep adult themes. Kids won't see it because it is too adult for them, and teens and adults won't see it because it is too childish.

As for the movie, it is very good. It is heart-breaking and empowering, the effects are magnificent, and Lewis MacDougall and Felicity Jones are impressive to watch. Your heart will beg for the story to be real, even though your head will keep reminding you that tree monsters are imaginary.

If you are a fan of cinema, and can look past the fact that this is a movie without a target audience, I think you will enjoy it. Everyone else may want to wait on the DVD to hit the shelves before you give it a try.
