This movie has been getting a ton of bad reviews, but I think that is pretty unfair. I think that most of the reviews aren't taking into account that this movie is for a young audience. Like, 8 - 10 year olds. It's much more like FROZEN than it is THE NEVERENDING STORY.

Sure it is simplistic and the quest is basic, but it isn't for a 3rd grader. This is the kind of movie that will rock their world.

It is beautiful, fun, the story is compelling and entertaining, and the acting is spectacular. Sure, it may be a few levels below your intellectual and excitement levels, but the kids are going to love it.

There are a couple of scenes that may be a bit too intense for the younger kids or children that are sensitive to scary imagery, but for the most part this is a great film for your kids to enjoy. It's also a nice "level up" film for your children that are getting too big for the cartoons.
