Reviews Of What Is In Theaters Now
AQUARELA - Review
Release Date: October 4, 2019
Director: Viktor Kossakovsky
Plot: A visual study of the power of water and ice in nature
Clint Says: Wait until after opening weekend, but see this in theaters
If you've ever been knee-deep in the ocean you know what a powerful force water is. It gives life, and it is powerful enough to take life away. It forms mountains, and it is powerful enough to move them.
Water is also beautiful.
AQUARELA is essentially 90 minutes of starting at different bodies and forms of water. There is very little dialogue, it's almost completely a visual feast. If you think this sounds boring, you are probably right. If you think this sounds interesting, you are probably right.
This film is not one for the average movie-goer. If you see 3 or 4 movies a year don't even bother with this one. This is made for people who love the off-beat films and are in love with visual artistry.
The film is shot in 96 frames per second. Most films are shot in about 30fps. This means that the visuals are that much more stunning. For this reason, I highly recommend seeing this in the theater if you are interested in seeing it. The experience will be well worth your time.
