This is one of those smarmy, Hallmark channel-style flicks that gives you exactly what you are looking for in a smarmy, Hallmark Channel-style flick. It is formulaic in every way, and makes you laugh, cry, get angry, and swoon in all of the right places.

The downside of this film are all of the "oh, come on" moments. They start with the fact that they live in a small Louisiana town outside of New Orleans and apparently only 2 black people live in the whole town. Then they kill off one of the two!!!!!!!!! Next, it's southern Louisiana and everyone talks like they are from Alabama. Nope. Not even close people. Throw in some pretty bad acting by the lead guy and you've got a 105 minute movie that feels like 205 minutes. (Longer if you really can't stand crappy country songs).

If you are into movies like this, then, by all means, go see it. You'll be thrilled. For the rest of us that need substance in our movies, this is not a good choice for you.
