Clint Says:Wait for the digital release

If you've seen any of the Kendrick brothers' movies, you know exactly what you are getting yourself into with this film. Is it a cinematic masterpiece? No, but it is inspirational, it will make you ugly cry, and it is a good, clean story for families.

There aren't a lot of family-friendly films that are entertaining enough to earn your theater dollars and your time. This one teeters on the edge of being good enough to see in theaters, but when it comes down to it, there really isn't anything in the movie that makes it worth seeing on the big screen instead of just waiting for it to come out digitally.

The story is interesting, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. There are so many "discussions over a cup of coffee" moments that slow down the film too much. A good film gives us the important information while staying dynamic, rather than having all of the pertinent information dumped out in our laps during a discussion between two characters. (That usually happens over a cup of coffee).

This is a fine film. It will inspire you and make you feel things, but it isn't the kind of movie that will stay with you. If you are looking for a way to spend an evening with the whole family, and you aren't afraid to cry in front of your kids, give this one a shot.
