SOUND OF METAL
Rated: R
Release Date: December 4, 2020
Director: Darius Marder
Stars: Riz Ahmed, Olivia Cooke, Paul Raci
Plot: A drummer suddenly loses his hearing and must figure out what he is going to do with his life

Clint Says: See this as soon as you can

What would you do if you spent your entire life pursing something and had it taken away from you in an instant? That is the struggle dealt with in this story.

Riz Ahmed is a front runner for best actor thanks to his incredible performance. He spent months learning how to play drums and how to speak using sign language. That kind of commitment combined with his emotional portrayal will surely help him collect several trophies this year.

Paul Raci has a good chance of winning more hardware for this film in the Best Supporting Actor category. He brings the heart and calm to a story that would quickly become chaotic and unmanageable without him.

The rest of the film is very good. It is emotional, raw and heartbreaking. It is definitely worth seeing.
