This movie is a beautiful and fanciful delight from beginning to end. It is filled with spectacular imagery, enchanting characters, and exciting adventure. The scenery is gorgeous, the music will bring you back to your childhood, and the story, while simple enough for a child to understand, is compelling and intriguing for adults, too.

Mackenzie Foy fills the lead role like the pro that she is. She does a wonderful job using emotion and determination to drive her character arc. For the most part, her supporting cast members are great as well. There are a couple of notable exceptions that feel like they are out of place in this film, but they have minor roles, so their lack of acting prowess doesn't affect the overall tone of the film too much.

This is one of the more beautiful films I have ever seen. I will be shocked if it isn't nominated for the big awards in the categories of Cinematography, Production Design, and Costume Design. For me, it is the front runner for Costume Design.

There are a couple of pretty intense scenes for younger children, but if you have kids that are around 8 or older this may be a great introduction into more mature films for them. For those of you that like fantasy and Disneyesque style, go see this movie now. You will love it.
