For a comedy like this to work the spy story still has to be a good one. It can't be a fluff story with a bunch of laughs. This one almost gets there. It starts off really promising and has several great moments, but the story gets convoluted along the way.

It is a funny film, so if you need some good laughs you will get them. The only downside to the funny is that Kate McKinnon's character wears thin quickly. I love McKinnon in everything she has done up to this point, but by the halfway point of this movie I was done. Her character was annoying to the point of wearing me out.

It is a film full of twists and turns, exciting action, and funny lines, but it doesn't quite make it to a level of greatness or comedy that you would expect from this duo. If you want to see a great film in this genre check out Melissa McCarthy's SPY.
