This is one of those "could have been" movies. The premise is intriguing, the story is compelling, but the execution is so bad that it is nearly cringe-worthy. There are so many plot holes in this film that even the most casual of movie-goers will notice how this movie just keeps trying to push forward by people spouting out information that they should have no way of knowing.
It feels like the decision makers on this film just said, "we need to get from point A to point B, so let's just have several characters deliver lines completely out of character, but it will help the story along."
Only slightly less annoying than the plot holes is Paula Patton. Can we all finally agree that she is not a great actor? She's good, but she isn't strong enough to lead a movie. There were several scenes where I was pulled out of the story because her acting was so sub-par.
This movie does have a couple of moments of good suspense, but you will see the twist coming from a mile away. And once you know the twist, the rest of the story plays out like any other thriller/drama does. Chances are, you will be checking your clocks about an hour into this movie.
This film could have been something special, unfortunately it's just another forgettable drama.
