Clint Says: Wait for the digital release

While this film is based on a fascinating true story, it feels like it never really gets going. The whole movie is a slow burn. Even the climax is barely exciting.

It is a film worth seeing for the interesting story and the great acting, but this one would be a lot easier to watch if you can pause it every once in a while and do something else.

It is relentlessly sad and depressing. There are very few moments of joy and even fewer moments of redemption. Most of it is desperate people making poor decisions. Then when it finally feels like things are taking a turn for the good it all gets slammed to the ground again.

I wish the film was as good as the story. It could have been very powerful. It does enough to keep the audience interested throughout, but it never gets to the point where you feel like it is exciting or you are being entertained.

If you like true crime dramas, you'll most likely enjoy this movie. If you are hoping for an action-packed, high-stakes, criminal-enterprise flick where they bad guys are elegant and always trying to stay one step ahead of the law, this is not the film for you.
