Oh, how I wanted this movie to be good. Taraji P. Henson is one of my favorite actors and the plot looked really interesting. Unfortunately, the way the story plays out isn't very good.
I didn't care about what happened to any of the characters, I didn't care about the mafia-style war going on, and I didn't care why certain events were happening. Maybe if the movie spent more time on character development it would have been better, but we didn't get that.
Overall the acting was good. The kid is great, Henson is great, but Danny Glover is terrible. Like, Razzie bad. Like, every time he speaks you are pulled out of the story because his acting is so bad.
It's a bummer, because this story has so much potential. I just wish it played out in a more compelling way.
